What is a Golden retriever cavalier mix breed dog?

A golden retriever cavalier mix breed dog crosses between a golden retriever and a cavalier King Charles spaniel. These dogs are often called Golden Cavaliers. They are intelligent, active, and loving dogs that make great family pets. Golden Cavaliers are typically medium-sized dogs. Golden Cavaliers are friendly, outgoing dogs that love to play and be around people. Golden Cavalier mix history.

The Golden Cavalier is a relatively new mixed breed developed in the United States in the 1990s. Moreover, the breed’s exact origin is unknown, but it is thought to have been created by crossing a Golden Retriever with a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. The goal of the cross was to create a dog with the best traits of both parents-a friendly, outgoing dog with a thick, water-resistant coat. 

While the Golden Cavalier is not yet a recognized breed by the American Kennel Club, it is recognized by some other organizations, including the American Canine Hybrid Club, the Designer Dogs Kennel Club, and the International Designer Canine Registry.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.

While they’re bred to be the perfect partner, they’re not a companion. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breed retains the active characteristics of the spaniel predecessors. When they’re not on a lap or enjoying an affectionate belly rub, nothing can make them more joyful than flushing an animal and then trying to take it away.

One of the biggest of toy breeds, Cavaliers are often as athletic as a real sporting breed. They enjoy walking, running along the beach, and playing dog sports like agility, flyball, and rally. However, a small number consisting of CKCSC and USA members formed the American Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club (ACKCSC) and submitted to the AKC to be a parent club. IN TURN, the AKC granted the request; it was announced that the AKC officially recognized the breed in March of 1995.

 

 

Golden Retriever.

Coat & Grooming.

Golden Cavaliers come in various colors, including gold, cream, white, black, brown, and red. They require daily brushing to prevent mats and tangles from forming in their coat.
