Boodles (Bulldog Poodle Mix) are the result of crossing a Bulldog with either a Toy or Miniature Poodle. The result of crossing the English Bulldog with the Poodle is a small- to medium-sized designer breed that exhibits a mixture of the characteristics found in both parent breeds. As a pup, this hybrid dog has a lot of energy. However, as it ages they seem to have a bit more relaxation. The size of an adult Boodle depends on the parents. A Bulldog crossbred with a large Poodle will usually result in a medium sized dog that weighs between 40 and 55 pounds, stands 14 to 16 inches high, and is about the same height.

The Poodle has a lifespan of 12-15 years. This is shorter than that of the English Bulldog. The English Boodle lives for 11-12 years.


The coat of an English Boodle can vary from dog to pet. Some Boodles are short-haired like Bulldogs, while others have longer curly or wavy fur. The Boodles don’t usually shed much, and they only need to be brushed regularly in order to prevent their fur from getting matted or tangled.

You may also need to take your Boodle to the groomer regularly for regular trims if they are more like their Poodle parent.

To prevent infection, you will need to clean and check your English Boodles’ ears regularly. Keep their nails trimmed and their teeth brushed regularly.





Coat type and color, like size, can be favored by one parent breed or a combination of both. Most Bulldog Poodle mix dogs have a short or medium-length coat. The texture may be straight, curly or wavy. The parent breeds have a wide range of colors and patterns.

A Poodle Bulldog mix should shed less than a purebred Poodle. Do not assume that your Boodle is hypoallergenic. If you suffer from allergies, spend some time with them before bringing one home.
